Busy at the wrong price is still a pricing problem.
Rate shopping can create the illusion that the market has already decided your price. But a price only works if it fits your operating reality. Busy work that does not leave enough behind can make growth feel strangely unprofitable.
A rate can look competitive and still fail to fit the company carrying the trip. Vehicle cost, chauffeur time, unpaid movement, waiting, payment fees, overhead, and service expectations can be very different from the competitor whose price is being matched.
That is why high booking volume does not automatically prove the rates are healthy. The important distinction is between revenue that keeps vehicles moving and revenue that leaves enough behind to support the operation.
- Rates copied from competitors
- Discounts becoming the norm
- Trips that look good only at gross revenue
